About This Image
On April 28, 1945, Communist partisans broke into the jail at Giulino di Messegra where Benito Mussolini, actress Clara Petacci (his mistress) and 16 of his bodyguards were being held. The partisans pulled them out into the street and shot them all. They were then dragged down the street and hung from the overhang of a gas station for all to see. This is an important piece of WWII history. Ink inscription indicates Mussolini's body.
