About This Image
Numbered \"20,219\" in ink on the verso by the photographer. A professionally restored tear at the bottom left side. This is the only known print of this image, which shows the roof of the Palais de l\'Industrie, just built at this time to house the Exposition Universelle of 1855. There is a variant, from a slightly different point of view, which appeared in the exhibition of the BnF, 2002, pl.179 (collection Manfred Heiting, Amsterdam, 379 x 455 mm; another print of that image was also in the sale of Enghien, June 2014).
