About This Image
Mounted, with photographer\'s red stamp at lower right. The image was taken in August 1858. Only four other copies of this image have been located, including the GEH and BN. They exhibit the same negative flaw that has been slightly retouched by Le Gray in this one, which probably accounts for its rarity.
