Maurice Seymour was the preeminent celebrity photography studio in Chicago and New York during the 1920s-1940s. There were actually two brothers: one ran the Chicago studio and the other operated the New York site. They used large format cameras, studio lighting and photographed the famous. They became the preferred photographers of ballet dancers.Provenance: estate of Ted Harwell, former curator of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
