Victor Skrzynski was a photographer under the name Wiktor. He was born on December 23, 1834 in Bachmaty in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (Poland). He was a photographer at 80, rue Vaneau in Paris (7th arrond.) when he married on July 20, 1867 Florentine Znamierowska born on December 4, 1841 in Puzkowa in the Palatinate of Podolska (Northern Russia). They had a son Witold Louis, born on rue Vaneau on September 6, 1868.
The couple left the capital for Avignon (Vaucluse) where Louis Julien Skrzynski was born on July 1, 1870, who lived only a few days.
In his "Directory of Photographers of France in the 19th Century," Jean-Marie Voignier states that Wiktor worked at 22 Place l'Horloge in Avignon and that in 1871, he was associated with Max. This could only be Maximilien Krasjewski, a 32-year-old photographer who is a witness on Louis Julien's death certificate. Max then worked as a photographer in Besançon (Doubs) for about 15 years. However, it does not appear that Wiktor continued his career in France after leaving Avignon around 1872.
